There are lots of ways to get your friends to donate money to great causes these days, but when it comes to fundraising for the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, we only want you to use one! Every single registered 2-Day Walker and Crew member has their very own 2-Day personal fundraising page. That page gives you a personalized platform to tell your loved ones why you’re walking, has links to share on social media, and lets you enter credit card donations.
If you download our Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer mobile app, you can take donations
any time, any place! Click here to learn more about setting up your 2-Day personal fundraising page, and click here to learn more about our 2-Day Walk mobile app!
We highly discourage you from using for-profit services like GoFundMe, Crowdrise, etc. because each of those services takes a fee out of your donors’ generous donations and is not tax-deductible. Beside- if you’re using your 2-Day personal fundraising page (which operates just like these services), your donors’ gifts become tax-deductible since they are made directly to It’s The Journey (a registered 501c3) rather than to a 3rd party corporation.
Facebook has also recently added a “Donate” button to charity pages like ours. Please do not use this, as it is also run by a 3rd party that collects a substantial fee.
We want to be the best possible stewards of the money given and intended to be given to It’s The Journey. Help us help you by following these simple suggestions, and together, we’ll make 2017 our best fundraising year yet!
