bubblesNow that spring is here, it’s the perfect time to set up some creative outdoor fundraisers for your 2-Day Walker account! One of our favorite ideas is a Neighborhood Field Day/Block Party. You set up great yard games like corn hole, volleyball, sack races, relay races, egg race, a 3-legged race, pie eating contest, silly obstacle course, etc.- you know, all the classic summer games from your elementary school field day and classic summer block parties. With the Summer Olympics coming up, you could even make your games Olympic-themed!

Invite your neighbors via fliers, messages on your neighborhood Facebook group, phone calls, etc, and everyone pays a donation to come and play! Be sure to make it known that this is for charity, and your friends and neighbors will be sure to show their support! Grand prizes can range from the truly desirable (ie. a gift card to a local restaurant) to the almost-free prize even adults clamor for- bragging rights and a plastic “gold” medal 🙂grill

Throw some simple hot dogs and burgers on the grill, and sell plates with chips and a coke for $5-$7. Set up some 2-
Day change cans on the tables, and be sure to sit out a few print-outs about why you’re participating in the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

It’s a fun, family-focused day, a great way to spend time with your neighbors, and an even better way to get some donations to your 2-Day Walker Account! If you need a few pointers as you plan, email Whitney at wpack@2daywalk.org. And be sure to send us some pictures if you host one of these awesome events!!
