A Cure In Our Lifetime Atlanta presents their annual Spring Charity Breakfast Wednesday, March 21 at 9:00 am at the Cherokee Town & Country Club. The breakfast features guest speaker Amy Silverstein. Funds raised by the breakfast support It’s The Journey and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For more information and tickets, visit www.atlantacure.org.

Join us for our next training walk in beautiful downtown Decatur, Saturday, May 19th at 8:00 am! We will be walking 5 miles through beautiful downtown and residential Decatur. We will begin walking promptly at 8:00 am, so please arrive a little early to get parked, stretch, and browse the 2-Day Store!
Please be sure to mark yourself as “Going” (rather than “Interested”) when you RSVP (Facebook event page coming soon!) so that we can have an accurate headcount for water and snacks. There are tons of great restaurants and shops in downtown Decatur, so make a day of it and grab lunch (or brunch!) with your family/teammates after you finish walking!

Save the date for our June Training Walk in Marietta! We will be meeting at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the training walk begins at 8:00 am. The ladies of St. Joseph have generously offered to provide a light breakfast beginning at 7:30 am, so please join us a little early! There will be 6 mile and 9 mile route options. There is a Farmer’s Market happening at Marietta Square until 12pm, so after the walk, hop on over to the Square to pick up some fresh, delicious food!

Join us at 7:30 am on Saturday, July 21st at Stone Mountain Park for a training walk! You can choose to walk either 5 miles or 10 miles.
To avoid the Stone Mountain parking fee, the ladies of the Stone Mountain Woman’s Club have graciously agreed to open their parking lot to us, which is located directly beside the walk-in gate.

Join us at 7:30 am for a 5 or 11 mile walk at the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta!
We will have a five-mile loop and an 11-mile loop.
Those walking five miles will walk to the B’Rest Stop at Kimball Bridge/Rock Mill Park and return to the starting point.
Those walking 11 miles will walk to the Alpharetta YMCA and return to the starting point.
We will have water/snacks every 2.5 miles. If you are walking 11 miles, we recommend that you eat a good breakfast and bring a starting bottle of water.
Traveling 400 North exit on Mansell Road.
Turn right on Mansell Road.
Turn left on North Point Parkway.
Just past Ethan Allen Furniture (at 6800 North Point Pkwy. Alpharetta, 30022) look for an Alpharetta Greenway sign on the right.
Turn right into the wooded parking lot, where we will meet at the cement trail.
If the parking lot is full, we have permission to park in the Ethan Allen parking lot. Please park in their lot closest to the Greenway and write “Do the 2″ on a piece of paper and leave it on your dashboard! (Thank you Ethan Allen!)

At the training walk you will have a chance to turn in donations, make transfers, and stock up on your 2-Day swag, so don’t miss it!

The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is an annual fundraising endurance walk that takes place on September 29-30, 2018, and takes participants through 30 miles of Atlanta over the course of 2 days. Last year, nearly 1,000 walkers committed to fundraising and training for this event.
The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer’s founder, Randi Passoff, began the 2-Day Walk in 2002 when the Avon 3-Day Walk faced financial difficulty and pulled out of Atlanta. Randi’s goal was to create a fundraising event where money raised stayed right in the communities of the participants. We call the 2-Day “the kinder and gentler breast cancer walk” because we strive to include passionate individuals at different levels of physical and fundraising ability- walkers can walk all 30 miles, or just choose to walk 10 miles on one day.
In 2017, over $1 million was raised from the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer! With the money from the walk, It’s The Journey, Inc. is able to fund grants that serve over 100 counties in Georgia. These programs provide mammograms, clinical breast exams, genetic counseling and testing, biopsies, support services, education, and much more. Many of our grants have a specific focus on under-served individuals in our community- uninsured and under-insured women for whom these types of breast health measures are often not available.
Since 2002, the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer has funded 335 grants totaling $14 million to support breast health programs throughout Georgia. Our motto is “What’s raised in Georgia stays in Georgia.”
