This program helps relieve financial stress for patients facing an immediate financial need as a direct or indirect result of their breast cancer treatment. Money is applied towards living expenses such as mortgage or rent payments, utility bills, groceries, transportation, medications, medical equipment, and similar expenses.

This program provides emergency monetary assistance to individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment who are experiencing an immediate financial crisis because they cannot pay for basic life needs such as rent, utilities, medication, or transportation.

This program helps people affected by breast cancer to enhance their health and well-being through participation in professional programs of emotional support, education and hope. All services are offered free of charge to people with breast cancer and their loved ones. Programs include professionally led support groups, education forums hosted by leaders in the medical community, gentle exercise and stress reduction classes, supported yoga, and nutrition demonstrations.

Through the Breast Health Initiative the CBWW will identify women who are in need of breast health education and services. The program will provide clinical breast exams, screening mammography services, and diagnostic services to uninsured, under insured, unemployed or low income women. A Breast Health Advocate will ensure linkage to care and treatment for women who are diagnosed with breast cancer through the program.

The Asian Breast Care (ABC) program provides affordable mammograms and clinical breast exams, individual and group level education about self-breast exams and ways to access mammogram services, and follow-up services for all women who receive mammogram services. Additionally, the ABC program provides culturally and linguistically competent patient navigation, health education and support services.

East Georgia Cancer Coalition’s program aims to increase community access to breast health services by addressing barriers to healthcare for underserved individuals, such as cost and distance. Services include screening and diagnostic mammograms and breast health education.

Bridging the Grady GAP – Genetic Access Program for Individuals at Risk for Hereditary Breast Cancer
Fulton, DeKalb and surrounding counties
Bridging the Grady GAP will provide access to genetic counseling and genetic testing for individuals being treated at Grady Hospital who have a personal or family history suggestive of a hereditary risk for breast cancer and who are uninsured or covered by Medicaid or Medicare.

Breast Disease Prevention & Treatment Program
This program will provide free screening mammograms to uninsured Hall County residents with no other access to care. If additional follow-up is recommended or if any abnormalities are present, the program will provide free diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds in partnership with Northeast Georgia Medical Center, or follow-up with a specialty care provider through Health Access.

Women’s Health Screenings
DeKalb and Fulton counties
This program will provide vouchers for screening mammograms and diagnostic testing for women who are uninsured and would not otherwise have access to these life-saving tests. If further diagnostic testing is required through ultrasound and/or biopsy, those procedures will be funded as well. This program especially targets women who are most in need of access to healthcare services and most at risk because of income and/or race.

Breast Education and Referral Programs

The Breast Education & Diagnostic Referral Program’s mission is to provide essential services to low-income, uninsured and impoverished women, especially in the area of prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer. Education to increase the awareness of the need for clinical and self-breast examination is provided to all female patients. Patients are referred for routine screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and breast biopsies to partner provider facilities.
GWINNETT HOSPITAL SYSTEM FOUNDATION
Digital Mobile Mammography
The Digital Mobile Mammography project will provide funding for underinsured people in Gwinnett County by partnering with clinics and multi-cultural health fairs. Digital mammography is administered on the Care-A-Van at regularly scheduled sites. All patients receive written results and are contacted if follow up is necessary, provided by physicians at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Breast Cancer Prevention through Education and Screening

This project will heighten breast health awareness and prevention efforts among individuals through targeted breast health messaging and increased access to mammograms and clinical breast exams. The Health Initiative will focus on breast education messaging that is culturally specific to sub-populations of women within the LGBT community of Georgia. Those education efforts will directly link to free screening opportunities with culturally competent providers.

This program will provide financial assistance for the Bandages and Garment Fund. This fund provides compression garments or bandages for lymphedema management for breast cancer patients.
MACON VOLUNTEER CLINIC
Breast Health Education and Screening Program
The Breast Health Education and Screening Program provides uninsured residents of Bibb County with annual breast exams, breast self-exam education, and access to mammograms. If the mammogram results necessitate it, the Macon Volunteer Clinic coordinates additional breast health services for the patient, including diagnostic mammograms, spot compression views, ultrasounds, surgical consults, and biopsies.

This program serves high-risk minority women in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The program is a full continuum of care offering accessible health care, education, and support. Program activities include educational sessions, clinical breast exams, mammography, diagnostic services, patient navigation, and ongoing follow-up and support services. The goal is to increase early detection by providing a continuum of care that addresses the cultural, linguistic and economic barriers to care often faced by low-income minority women.
Screening Mammography and Diagnostic Services Project
Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin, and Pickens counties
This program will provide no cost screening mammography and diagnostic services to financially eligible women. Services are provided at any of Northside’s 16 imaging centers or 21 mobile mammography sites. Uninsured women, especial those living in Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin and other outlying counties will be targeted.
Overcoming Barriers to Genetic Screening, Counseling, & Testing for At Risk Women
Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin, and Pickens counties
This program will provide educational classes regarding genetic risks to high-risk women, provide one-one-one genetic counseling to uninsured and underserved women, and provide genetic testing for women at risk of developing hereditary breast cancer.

This program is a no fee breast health and cancer awareness program presented to metro Atlanta high schools that strives to educate young women about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. Young women will learn the proper technique for breast self-examination, information about risk factors, healthy lifestyle choices and the importance of knowing their own bodies so they can recognize changes. The life-saving importance of early detection is emphasized at each presentation.
PIEDMONT FAYETTE HOSPITAL
Breast Health Nurse Navigator for Piedmont Fayette Hospital
Clayton, Fayette, south Fulton, and Henry counties
This program will help support a breast health nurse navigator to guide and support Piedmont Fayette Hospital breast cancer patients from the point of diagnosis throughout the course of their treatment, helping to ensure the patients receive timely and appropriate care that helps improve their outcomes and their chance for survival.
Fighting Breast Cancer Through Genetics
Twenty-eight metro Atlanta counties
The grant will provide genetic counseling and testing for high risk individuals who are medically underserved or uninsured, have been determined to be eligible for genetic testing. Identifying and counseling these women to explore management options with their health care team is a profound step in reducing future breast cancer diagnoses. If a genetic predisposition is identified, it also benefits family members who can then pursue predictive testing to learn about their risks for developing breast cancer.
PINK at Piedmont

PINK at Piedmont provides a comprehensive wellness program for women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Designed to speed recovery and reduce reoccurrence, PINK is a rolling 12-week exercise, nutrition, and support program offered free-of-charge to Piedmont and non-Piedmont breast cancer patients in the Atlanta area.

Breast Health Screening and Diagnostic Services for Uninsured Women
Coweta County and surrounding areas
This program will provide screening and diagnostic mammograms for individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford these services. Patients who present an abnormal mammogram will be eligible for a breast ultrasound and, if necessary, a biopsy to determine the presence of cancer.
SAINT JOSEPH’S/CANDLER – SAVANNAH
Mission Possible: Bridging the Mammography Gap
Bryan, Chatham, and Effingham counties
This program will provide breast health services to the underserved at no cost to patients meeting established financial criteria. Services which will close the gap for the working poor include: screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound and MRI, image-guided breast biopsies and case management/patient navigation throughout the continuum of breast cancer detection, care, and survivorship.
TANNER MEDICAL CENTER
Carroll, Haralson, and Heard counties
This project will provide mammograms in a mobile mammography unit for residents in Carrroll, Haralson, and Heard counties. The mobile unit will visit indigent clinics, rural health clinics, public health departments, and housing authorities.
TURNINGPOINT BREAST CANCER REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation and Educational Programs for Women with Breast Cancer
Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties
This project will serve breast cancer survivors in the Greater Atlanta area by providing specialized rehabilitation services and educational programs that address physical and emotional survivorship issues. The grant will support a financial assistance program to allow access to physical therapy, massage therapy, counseling and nutritional counseling for uninsured and underinsured women with breast cancer. In addition, it will support educational programs related to survivorship issues and programs for women with metastatic breast cancer.
Mammography Voucher Program
Cobb, Douglas, Paulding counties
This project will provide vouchers for free mammograms for women who are not able to afford or otherwise have access to this service. The goal of this program will be to diagnose and treat breast cancer at an earlier stage which will result in a higher rate of survivorship.
