Crew Director Adina Fink has been a beloved staple of the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer for quite some time. If we were to give her a motto, it’d have to be “Work, Work, Work, Work, Work,” ‘cause our girl Adina knows how to get stuff done! As Crew Director, she is responsible for walk logistics, including creating the route, selecting the rest stops and ceremonies locations, obtaining appropriate permits, analyzing mileage, creating timelines, and managing an all-volunteer crew of nearly 250. All of our Crew Directors and Captains are volunteers, so the insane number of things she does to help make the 2-Day Walk happen are *in addition* to her day job and real life.
Adina has been with Honeywell Aerospace (formerly EMS Technologies) for 16 years as a Program Analyst. She went back to school while working full-time AND volunteering with the 2-Day Walk, earning her Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting in 2014 from Georgia State University. She did not sleep at all during this time (fact not verified- just assumed). Adina has some serious love for hockey and her rescue dog, Wayne, for whom she drove all the way to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to adopt.
2016 will be Adina’s 11th 2-Day Walk! Adina has been a 2-Day Walker, Ceremonies Captain, a B’Rest Stop Captain, Event Services Captain, and became a Crew Director in 2014. Adina’s dedication honors her mother’s memory, who passed away from breast cancer. Adina’s dad Mark flies down from Michigan every year to volunteer on the 2-Day Crew. We are so grateful for her time, enthusiasm, and leadership. So turn up the Rhianna, and raise a glass to one of our favorite hard-working women, Adina Fink! Right on!
