July 10, 2020 – July 23, 2020 all-day

Our third Adventure kicks off Friday, July 10, and ends on Thursday, July 23! A huge thank you to Strike Out Breast Cancer for helping us make this Adventure possible!

Our 7-part Adventure series is designed to inspire you- getting you out of the house to explore new paths, to recruit new 2-Day Walkers, and to raise even more money to fight breast cancer in Georgia!

For our third Adventure, we are challenging you to:

  • Walk 6,000 steps/day & wear 2-Day gear every time you train! We are challenging you to hit 6,000 steps per day! We know it’s hot out there, so break it up into sections if you need to, and above all, take care of yourself! We also want to see you out in your favorite ITJ or 2-Day gear! Send us a pic of you out sporting your 2-Day gear, and you could be the next person featured on our Instagram page! Email those pictures to wjones@2daywalk.org.
  • Fundraising Goal- Ask 18 people to sponsor you! This is the 18th year of the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. In honor of our anniversary, we’re challenging you to find 18 people to reach out to for a donation. Any amount, even $5, helps!
  • Contest: Show us your most creative “2” design! This contest for individuals challenges you to get creative! We want to see you bake, grow, shape, design, sculpt, arrange, gather, etc. something into the shape of our 2-Day “2” image! Snap a pic and send it into wjones@2daywalk.org- most creative entry wins a 2-Day Swag pack including some of our new 2-Day Adventure products!

  • Inspiration Locations- Amicalola Falls State Park & Mason Mill Park: For this Adventure, we have two great options to get you out of the house and moving! Check out stunning Amicalola Falls State Park! A short drive from the metro-Atlanta area in the North Georgia mountains, Amicalola Falls is the perfect day trip to get out of the house and enjoy a beautiful day out in nature. The park sits in the middle of the Chattahoochee National Forest near the base of the Appalachian Trail, and the 729 foot water falls will take your breath away. According to the park’s website, “One of the most popular trails, the 8-mile Approach Trail leads from the park to Springer Mountain, the southern terminus of the 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail.” There is a $5 GA State Park Pass fee for all vehicles entering the park. To learn more about the park, check out the website here.

Looking for something closer to home? Why not visit Mason Mill Park, and check out the South Peachtree Creek Trail?! This 3.6 mile roundtrip trail features beautiful scenery as you explore the raised boardwalk trails through Decatur’s beautiful canopy. Check out the abandoned Decatur Waterworks now styled with colorful graffiti along the way! For more information about Mason Mill Park, click here.
