Adventure #7 kicks off on Monday, September 7! We’d like to give a huge shout out to Phoenix Crane for helping to make this Adventure possible- thank you! If you’re not already using the MoveSpring app, we encourage you to get enrolled now as this is the app we will be using for the 2020 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer Experience! Registered 2020 participants can click here to learn how to sign in to MoveSpring!
Activity Challenge: We are challenging you to “walk across Georgia” with a partner- that’s 300 miles in 2 weeks! It’s a HUGE challenge, but divided between two determined people (about 10.7 mi/day each), we think you can do it!
Divide it up even further by tackling the challenge with your teammates. Don’t forget to send in pics to Whitney at email@example.com for a chance to be featured on our Instagram page!
Fundraising Challenge: We’re asking you to try and find one $20 donation per day leading up to the 2020 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer Experience. For every 50 walkers who commit to raising $20/day between the start of this $20 challenge and the walk, we can fully fund one $20,000 grant in 2021!!
Don’t forget- good old fashioned emails and letters to friends requesting donations are proven to have the highest response rate, second only to an in-person ask. Need help with what to write? Contact Jon at firstname.lastname@example.org for ideas and a handy template!
Inspiration Location- Silver Comet Trail: Want a nice long trail to help you get ready for the 2-Day Walk Experience? Check out the Silver Comet Trail! According to their website, “the Silver Comet Trail is 61.5 miles long, and starts at the Mavell Road Trailhead in Smyrna, Georgia. It ends at the Georgia/Alabama state line, near Cedartown and The Esom Hill Trailhead.” Built along abandoned railroad lines, the fully paved trail is perfect for walkers and cyclists alike.
