June 15, 2020: It’s The Journey will once again have staff in the office Monday-Friday beginning Monday, July 6th. Staff will be in office on a rotating schedule, so please call ahead if you need to make arrangements to meet with someone in particular. When you arrive at our office, you will notice that our building requires all employees and guests to wear masks in common areas, and has several hand-sanitizing stations located near high-touch areas. If you do not have a mask, ITJ can provide one for you at our front desk in reception. ITJ’s office door will remain locked during office hours, but we have a new doorbell to alert the staff person(s) in the office of your arrival. ITJ will be complying with all CDC recommendations within our office space, and ask that guests please keep their masks on for the duration of your visit in order to protect both you and our staff members. Additional hand sanitizing stations will also be available in both the reception area of our office and the main conference table. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we all adjust to our new normal.
May 16, 2020: As a result of the City of Atlanta’s moratorium on permits for large outdoor events in the fall, It’s The Journey officially announces a new Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer Experience for 2020! Click here to learn about all the changes coming to the 2-Day Walk for 2020.
May 11, 2020: It is with regret that It’s The Journey announces the postponement of our Roaring 20’s Giving Gala to March, 2021. All tickets purchased for the 2020 event will automatically roll over to 2021. For questions, please contact Linda at lshein@2daywalk.org.
Join us on Saturday, June 6th at 5:30 pm as our Giving Gala goes virtual! We will be broadcasting the event with a full camera crew on Facebook Live, and it is open to everyone! You do not need to have purchased a gala ticket to participate!
The silent auction will open on Monday, June 1, and you will have the whole week to bid on your favorite items (auction will close during the live program). We also have several live auction items you can bid on during the program as well!
In addition to our live and silent auctions, we’ll be hosting a Virtual Wine Wall raffle beginning the week of May 25th! For a $30 donation, you get a mystery bottle of wine valued somewhere between $25-$100! Details TBA!
We will also be hearing from Dale Israel, recently retired from Northside Hospital Cancer Institute after serving as their Cancer Screening and Prevention Coordinator. As an ITJ Grantee organization, she will be sharing how breast cancer grants funded by It’s The Journey directly impact the patients they serve. We hope you will join us!
April 13, 2020: In the interest of safety, It’s The Journey has made some changes to our upcoming calendar of events. The Georgia 5K Run for Breast Cancer has been cancelled for 2020, and we look forward to renewing this event in 2021! Our Kick Off event for the 2020 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer on Saturday, May 16 will now be a digital event. You can find details on how to access that event here, as well as in our weekly e-blast.
While so much is changing and we find ourselves perpetually adapting, adaptation can bring good things too! On Thursday, April 30, we are excited to introduce It’s The Journey’s Pink Drink Social Club. Join us at 5:30 on the 3oth as we virtually gather to mix up a specialty pink cocktail drink (recipe, including non-alcoholic variations, to be provided!), chat with our 2-Day friends, and meet one of ITJ’s 2020 grantees! This is your chance to deep dive into our mission and learn more about how the money you raise helps breast cancer communities throughout Georgia! Click here for more info!
March 23, 2020: It’s The Journey has updated our office closure. The office will remain closed (all staff working remotely) until further notice. As such, there may be a slight delay in donation processing. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these changes. Be well!
March 16, 2020: It’s The Journey recognizes that these are very uncertain and concerning times. We wish to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID 19 (coronavirus) by adjusting our calendar of events and by changing our work patterns. In doing so, we hope to keep both our incredible supporters and staff as safe as possible in the days and weeks to come.
As such, ITJ’s office is closed as of today (Monday, March 16) until further notice. We will update this space as things develop. Our staff is privileged to be able to work remotely, and are happy to serve you as best we can during this time. Below, you will find a contact list to help you know which staff member to reach out to if you need assistance.
Our Giving Gala has officially been postponed to Saturday, June 6, and all tickets sold for the previous date will be honored. We hope you will be able to join us! Details about the rescheduled gala will be released as we have them, so please check back regularly for updates.
We also feel that it is prudent to reschedule our 2020 Kick Off event for the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Once the new date is known, we will make those details available on this space, via our weekly e-blast, and via our Facebook page.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate these uncharted waters together. ITJ encourages you to exercise extreme caution and to strictly adhere to all federal, state, and local guidelines in order to protect yourself, your family, and your community. Together, we will persevere through this crisis. It most certainly is a journey!
Respectfully,
It’s The Journey, Inc.
