August 31, 2021 Update:
We know there is a lot of uncertainty in our communities right now, and we wanted to check in with you to let you know what is happening with the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.
As of today, we are still having an in-person 2-Day Walk Weekend event October 2 and 3. Our medical partners at Wellstar have thoroughly reviewed, advised, and approved all of our safety precautions for the weekend, and we will be releasing those standards shortly.
That said, in order to move forward with an in-person event safely, we have to make some changes. While we will be having a 2 day event, we will only be walking 10 miles in person on Sunday, which allows us to drastically reduce our large gatherings.
We will still have a full range of activities at the hotel on Saturday available to access at your leisure, and you will still be able to utilize your Friday and Saturday hotel rooms. Your Saturday hotel room is still covered as always in your 2-Day registration fee.
You may check into the hotel whenever you like per your reservations, but 2-Day check-in will now open on Saturday at 3:00 pm. Trust us, you’re going to want to hang out on Saturday and experience all of the fun stuff we have planned!
Meals are on your own until Saturday night dinner. Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast will be boxed and available for you to eat in your room or wherever you feel most comfortable.
We will be broadcasting Saturday night ceremonies, and will be moving forward with all of our team and individual fundraising awards.
Details about Saturday activities are forthcoming, and we’re excited to give our walkers the opportunity to dive into our mission with some hands-on, interactive ways to support and celebrate our grantees and breast cancer patients.
Don’t forget to utilize our MoveSpring app, where you can virtually walk your first 20 miles leading up to the 2-Day Walk Weekend. Our 2-Day Walk Experience starts September 20th.
Thank you for going on this journey with us. We’re disappointed too to not be experiencing a traditional 2-Day Walk this year. We worked really hard this year to go “Back to the 2 Day,” and even if it’s not the way we hoped, we are still going to do it. At the end of the day, we all know that the most important thing is raising funds to support these breast cancer programs who need us now more than ever.
We look forward to going back to the 2-Day with you October 2-3!
